Purity ("we", "us") helps you understand the microplastic and chemical exposure of everyday products. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We sell scanning insights — not your data.
Information we collect
- Account info: your email address and (optionally) name, used to create and secure your account.
- App activity: products you scan or search, home-audit entries, and your exposure score — so the app can show your history and trends.
- Usage analytics: anonymized events (screens viewed, features used) to improve the app.
- Purchase status: whether you hold an active subscription, via Apple and our payments provider.
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or health records.
How we use it
- To provide scanning, search, home audits, and your exposure tracker.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To send research alerts and weekly reports you opt into.
- To improve product accuracy and the app experience.
Service providers
We share the minimum necessary data with vendors who process it on our behalf: authentication (Clerk), subscription management (RevenueCat / Apple), product analytics (PostHog), and AI photo identification (OpenAI, for photo scans only). They are contractually limited to providing their service.
Data retention & deletion
- Grocery scan history is automatically deleted after 7 days.
- Home-audit items you save are kept until you delete them.
- You can delete your entire account and all associated data anytime in Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent.
Children
Purity is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your data, or contact us with any privacy request at purity.application@gmail.com.
Disclaimer
Purity provides research-based information, not medical advice. Scores reflect current scientific literature on chemical exposure, not personal health outcomes.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the date above.
